“A Tale of Mirrors”

I
In which someone’s name is forgotten
A child lies about his supper
Three spiders stop chattering
And a man with blue hair arrives

(though the name is rusty and unhelpful
the worm-supper was delicious
The spiders were only gossiping
And the man with blue hair was expected)

II
In which the prince dances
Some witch-hazel proves useful
A rich woman gets a comeuppance
And the child lies again

(though the dance was more of a jig
The effects of the witch-hazel didn't last
The woman’s husband got the same treatment
And the child still got his worm-supper)
