DEDICATIONS, THANKS AND MENTIONS
Not everyone does this kind of thing the same way. Some writers mysteriously hint at a name
before the text of their book or some spill the names of 812 close friends in the afterward. All of
it is in the spirit of thanking those who have helped the author to stay sane, keep writing and
then, when the writing is over, stay sane and get to the hard stuff. Revising, rewriting, editing,
promoting, all of that is a full time job and the people around writers either understand that or
don't. And sometimes we, as writers, might feel some gleeful superiority and disdain towards
those who don't understand our work, who think we waste time or do nothing. Or maybe we can
just thank them, because in the end, even those who seek to hurt us are usually inspirational in
some sense.
So yes, while I might throw darts at the photos of a few people in my life or secretly model a
villain after them... I have to thank them for providing fodder for my imagination.
Here are all of the people that I don't have enough pages to ever fully thank for their love,
support, musedom, ideas, patience, help, time and existence. I'm sure the list will be updated
regularly...one can never have too many friends, after all.
